In their first and possibly only presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris dominated and enraged former President Donald J. Trump.
Jonathan Swan, who covers politics and the Trump campaign for The Times, explains how a night that could have been about Ms. Harris’s record instead became about Mr. Trump’s temperament.
Guest: Jonathan Swan (https://www.nytimes.com/by/jonathan-swan) , a political correspondent for The New York Times.

Everybody – almost everywhere … well … at least in the US and here in Brazil – thinks they are middle class. Kamala’s dad, Donald Harris, was an economics professor at Stanford.
Here’s a short TEDx talk by Law Scholar (Yale alumni) Joan C. Williams:

I’m not criticizing Kamala Harris – I’m criticizing the bad habit. Harris, however, should know better – and she should know that a lot of working class people know that “I grew up in a middle class family” isn’t an accurate description. Franklin Roosevelt was from a tremendously wealthy family. He got his BA at Harvard and got his law degree from Columbia. His accent showed where he came from and where he got his education – and he never made a drop of effort to change it. The wording of his speeches was the wording of a rich person who attended Harvard and Columbia. People thought that was a barrier and that people would not understand nor trust him. Roosevelt, however, knew better: he knew people value honesty and he also knew that working class and poor people were very smart – contrary to a belief wrongly held to this day.
Kamala Harris has a great running mate and a great chance to learn a lot from Tim Walz – and I hope she does. The US is, like it or not, a golden town on a hill covered in gold with a ring of WWII anti air strike lights that burn at least 2KW each – it does shine bright and is seen from very far away.
BTW, you know who also doesn’t hide his NY accent and manages to be respected by Republican and Democrat voters alike? Bernie Sanders.
10:40 A PEW Research opinion poll from a few years ago showed 19% of Americans think there should be no time limit for abortion – or, in other words, 19% of Americans believe it’s ok to have an abortion the day before delivery. That’s just like what Aktion T4 did to babies … the difference is the nazis did it a few days later. I am pro-choice but unless there are medical reason, I believe time restrictions are necessary.
As a 76 yo, I find this blog outstanding. With presentations that are political issues that are critical to America’s future. Thank you for condensing all these factors so well.
More ‘sanewashing’ of a person who has enormous psychological problems. He has been judged by many in the mental health industry as a danger to the world. Added to this is the fact that is that his Vice President would allow him to refuse to accept the results of the election. In the background is Project 2024 which is truly scary.
