Madonna opens up in ‘Interview Magazine,’ breaking her silence on her scrapped biopic. The film, which was set to star Julia Garner, didn’t come to fruition due to a budget dispute between the singer and Universal Studios, according to Madonna. Now, she’s working on an all-new take on her life story, via a series at Netflix — which requires an all-new script, as Universal still owns the one she wrote for the film.

I never believed this biopic would be made. And I don’t need it. I can’t imagine anyone playing Madonna. Madonna is TOO HUGE for a biopic. The best Madonna biopics are Madonna herself, her work, interviews, and documentaries about her. You could watch them for YEARS.
I always hoped that song “Material Girl” was a parody, and she didn’t really mean it. I do like the song in a show tune kind of way. However, some gals could take it literally. Same thing with Eric Clapton’s song, “Cocaine”.
they want to wait until she passes to do it because they know it’ll sell alot more and they’ll get 100% share from the film I mean madonnas 67 and I was nowhere near alive to see her in action but I know its gonna be great and she’s also 1 of a kind and she is and always will be legendary I hope she can work through it so she can tell her own story this always happens in Hollywood its like they’d rather tell your story and show what they want to be told and silence the person actually doing the work.
