Rom-Com Star Elisha Cuthbert Reveals Truth Behind Hollywood Hiatus Ahead of Acting Comeback

Elisha Cuthbert discussed her Hollywood hiatus as she prepares a return, offering context on work-life balance in entertainment.

The 43-year-old will star in Prime Video series Every Year After, her first major role in four years. In interviews on Today and with Yahoo, Cuthbert described stepping back to focus on family.

She said she worked through her first child’s early years, then chose to be home after her second, adding that with both now in school she has the space to work. Reflecting on past image pressures, she said in 2022 that posing for certain shoots felt obligatory, citing the era’s expectations. She added that public perceptions from 24 contrasted with her own shy reality and noted increased confidence in her 40s.
