“Since I was already over the age of 18 and considered an adult by the state of Tennessee, Sean and Leigh Anne would be named as my “legal conservators.” They explained to me that it means pretty much the exact same thing as “adoptive parents”, but that the laws were just written in a way that took my age into account. Honestly, I didn’t care what it was called. I was just happy that no one could argue that we weren’t legally what we already knew was real: We were a family.”

I think Oher’s timing for book release is perfect! This was clearly thought about and calculated. Obviously Oher has nothing to hide. Who files a legal lawsuit and then goes on display to sign a book? Someone who has nothing to hide and very much ready for the truth to be exposed. I have no problem with white people, but unfortunately certain whites DO have racial prejudice in their bloodline. The trickery of certain whites to get things from unassuming or uneducated blacks who are talented has been going on since slavery days. From ideas being stolen to towns burned down to prevention of loans for businesses has been at the hand of certain racist whites. It’s sad, but true. This subtle racism still exists and what whites don’t understand is that Oher isn’t first doing this for money. He’s doing it for the embarrassment and weight he carried as a black man FIRST. The movie made him look like a dumb black man and them the “saving” whites…..a trope pushed in racist propoganda across this world. For any whites reading this, please understand. The money is icing on the cake for Oher. This is about taking back his freedom and creating the narrative for his own life. And it doesn’t matter much whether you think he’s broke or ungrateful. The Touhys had a grown man under conservatorship for 19 years and didn’t file a single report of earnings made that included him. Unfortunately the Touhys greed and subtle racism has been checked now. They set themselves up for this. They should have done right from the beginning or just left black people alone if their heart wasn’t right.
