I was adopted in Southern California. I was 6 years old in 1956. I had (and still have) the same toy sewing machine. My dolls looked like Genevieve. It was kind of eerie watching this story.
Thank you for sharing your story.
Sweet story! Thanks for sharing this I’ve never seen it before. I love old B & W tv. The times sure seemed simpler then!✌️
You bet
Did they really have toy loan libraries like this?
yup.
Check your local library..In Fl we have development toys, record player, kitting machine, adult and children binoculars!! Not counting all books, cd,dvd, online. Mercy our county offers free sewing classes, fabric, clay classes, and woodwork shop.
!! Check yours out!!
WOW!! Thanks so very much for this one!! I have been looking for this since forever!!! I remember back in the 1980’s, “The Nostalgia Channel” aired this and it is such a wonderful story that indeed brings on the waterworks. Cheryl Callaway is so adorable in this and she was in a number of movies and in other TV series of the 1950’s. Why can’t TV be like this, clean and innocent? ,All it is today is garbage and tons upon tons of commercials. TV of the 1950’s 60’s and 70’s was and IS the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you again for this wonderful story, you have made me, and I am sure many others very happy with this wonderful offering! This also is a very nice looking 16MM print!! So glad you transfered this so we all can enjoy this wonderful feel good story!!!
Thank you too for your delightful comment.
what a heart warming episode!! dolls are magical!!
Times did seem simpler in those days, love the b+w seems comforting.
