I always tell my friends I haven’t played 2k since 05 lol
this was my first 2k, i was 8 years old and it made the pistons my favorite team at the time. the 24/7 mode used to make me rage lol
I had the original 2K on Dreamcast man at that time period them graphics was top tier 😂

ps2 Era Madden, Live, and 2k rule. I walked into Sam Goody back in the day, saw this for $19.99 and shit, ESPN NFL 2k5 also.
How many seasons is association mode?
This game would be considered odd if it wasn’t a gigantic hit, i blew hours at a time on this one.
NBA 2K6 on the PS2 (and the original Xbox) was also awesome too. The best sports video games to me were from 2004-2007. (I know SDTV agrees with this) – Edit, 1 month later: I think a good video idea would be “the last NBA 2K on the PS2” (that’s 2K12). Some things were taken out (like 24/7 mode, which was last in 2K6 even though a “next” version was on the PS3 version of 2K7) but I think the PS2 games are still good. Oh, and 2K11 and 2K12 had Michael Jordan mode (even on the PS2 versions!)

I remember this game being very cheap in price right out the gate. 2k was prime then.

NBA 2K5 is incredibly underrated
This simulation modes weren’t new. Almost all of the mentioned ones were in ESPN NBA Basketball (2K4) too. I don’t know why it was criticized but for me it’s still the best NBA game for it’s time.
Even though NBA live was on top still 2k5 was the game that made me fall in love with NBA 2k
