Most M4s use a 14.5 inch barrel. I myself usually use a 14.5 inch barrel on my M4s. However I’ve found that sometimes, just one and a half inches of extra length can make all the difference (along with a fast ammo).
Paired with a decent setup, your bullets will be reaching your targets way, way faster than with a 14.5 inch M4. Though you may sacrifice some ergonomics and gain some weight, with the right setup, the difference is quite little.
