Uconn should drop its football program – it’s a huge waste of money. Also, most people in the state have no interest in college football. Their focus is on pro football and other sports. Uconn will never be able to draw 55,000 to a game in bad weather in November and December. It will never reach the top 10.
Uconn moving conferences would be terrible for all of their other sports. Athletes don’t want to fly to Texas, Arizona and Utah for most of their games, and have either 0 regional rivalries or only 1 (in Boston College if they join the ACC). It would also be terrible for hoops to lose the Big East rivalries and the best conference tourney in the country at MSG in the Big Apple.
Maybe Penny is right for firing these coaches. We dont know his side of the story. If media said nothing, no one would be “tired” of anything. Who all is tired of things in Memphis? Show of hands? I bet it is a hand full of media inspired people. Thats it. Gary, it is much harder to coach today with NIL and premadonna athletes.
it ain’t complicated. Screw the letter, who knows if that is accurate. Turnover of coaches and players in the last 6 years is not close to normal and you can’t name one program that is close to that much bull shit. Last year a pretty decent team imploded. That’s on the leadership. Kirk, Finch and Cal all had much better 6 year runs and it ain’t even close. Remember they couldn’t give the job away when Cal left.
