Absolutely fantastic!!!! The cast and the acting was superb They didn’t come any better than the great John Barrymore, more beautiful than Camilla Horn or more ornery than Dick Sutherland as the Commissar. Best intertitle in the film, “Tamara — you care.” 🙂More of Camilla Horn… pleeze. Thank you, thank you for this outstanding classic.
I agree 100 percent! the cast the story the cinematography, everything, its brilliant. what a treasure 🥂😍
@Ourladyrules 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
With such a comment…(+ PizzaFlix standard of interesting picks, + John Barrymore + great period of mute films + intriguing female beauty)…. I’m going to watch !
@deguilhemcorinne418 Not many viewers give these Pre-Talkies a chance, but those who do are greatly rewarded. It is not technically a silent film because it was originally released with a synchronized score and sound effects, which is included in this presentation🍕
@PizzaFLIX90FF1 was right : the film was absolument fantastic ! And following your remark, I became aware that the music score and some sound effects are part of the artistic work, and not an addition. Now I am reading some information on this period of the cinéma evolution, seems to be really interesting !
Thank you PizzaFlix for another marvelous film. Fabulous cast supported by excellent music, with lots of Tchaikovsky melodies. Thoroughly engaging.
Hi Jumblepup🍕Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you🍕
Great silent classic with original sound and musical effects.
When the gun goes off at the end of the movie instead of hearing a gunshot we hear sleigh bells from elsewhere in the film. Don’t know if the complete 11 reel soundtrack exists. That ending is sort of jumpy. A rumored cross-country chase is still missing.
Barrymore never disappoints.🤩
Aburrida, pero John Barrymore está muy guapo ❤❤❤❤….
My grandfather, Sam Taylor, directed this film.
WOW! That makes you Cinema Royalty!
