Bron wasn’t “called up” in the draft, he signed with Smackdown in February this year. Also it makes sense to move him to Raw as he vowed to take out The Judgment Day many months ago, before he signed with Smackdown.
I’m confused at what people were expecting from the draft… if you looked at who was eligible, you can tell the draft on smackdown was going to be ordinary… you drafting from part of the roster and then the Champs were protected… that’s about 10 of the most interesting people on the roster right there… what surprises or excitement were you really expecting

The easiest way for them to handle this would be to “randomize” a pool of wrestlers who are available for drafting and go from there

AEW has a serious problem with injuring talent

The draft always been iffy, but removing the champs out takes all the wow factor it had left
Imagine defending the complete circus that is AEW yet claiming the WWE draft has been rubbish, especially when we’re barely halfway through. Tony Khan isn’t going to have your babies you absolute jokers.
The only good thing they did was say champions are locked to the show they are on. The draft wouldnt be needed if they just kept the rosters specific to the shows in general.
The champions being locked this year doesn’t make any sense,that should have been a rule in previous drafts,with brand specific belts,we don’t have brand specific belts anymore,so I think they missed an opportunity
I honestly think WWE could absolutely make more of this Draft by making it feel like something different and important. When the Draft comes around, make it a unified show, separate from RAW/NXT/Smackdown. Hold it in a major arena, have the whole talent pool present, even Performance Center hopefuls. Maybe have a couple of matches, where one of the other GMs make fun of a pick, and they put forward one of theirs to compete against them. Put over new talent and show why they’re being picked! Hell, you could even bring in the NHL style trading system, with draft picks being traded etc. Go all in on it!

Personally, I didn’t mind the draft. Yeah, okay, there weren’t that many big surprises, but then quite a lot of the talent are currently in (more or less) long term storylines, so it makes sense to keep them where they are. Likewise, it makes sense to leave the “big upsets” (if there are any) for the main show. Obviously, a surprise or two would’ve been nice, of course, but not having them is fine by me.
Also, I think it was a good move to have Nia Jax over on Smackdown, otherwise we would’ve just continued the Becky feud which has been over twice already. Not saying that matches between the two aren’t entertaining, but at least give us a few months or even 1-2 years before they collide again – otherwise it will become boring very quickly.
Powerhouse Hobbs would be a better champion than swerve.
