Prices at limited-service restaurants including Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A and Chipotle have increased more over the past decade than both full-service restaurants and overall inflation, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Experts say rising labor costs are the main culprit. McDonald’s underwhelming first-quarter 2024 earnings results are one example of a fast-food giant feeling the repercussions of its soaring prices. Why Fast Food Has Gotten So Expensive
Well for us with the big increases of regular groceries and the increases of fast food we go out to eat way less and even have cut back the amount we can afford to eat at alll so just eat less and be hungry sometimes
Because it takes years to master.
In my country McDonald is as almost expensive as a meal in restaurant. Now I always chose restaurants over fast-food
Your heart, liver and pancreas will thank you. Just give up this nasty vice
Stop eating goyslop. Problem solved.
I miss my happy meals, beanie babies, and Nintendo power days.
it is more than just a price increase but the QUALITY is going down as well (faster)
Not one comment or this video actually explains why prices are higher.
It’s because The Federal Reserve Central Bank issues too much currency into the system.
It is well enough that The American People have no understanding of their own Banking and Financial System. For if they did, there would be a Revolution before morning!
I don’t even need to click play: It’s an 8 minute talk about how it’s not minimum wage going up but everything else and also Donald Trump somehow. Just stop. Journalist is a hated title now and your awards are considered worthless. A guy got a Pulitzer for a story that was dispoven later and they didn’t ask for it back. You people’s culture is ruined, you’re worthless.
You think profits are gross ? Read an earnings report sometime its fun to see how much more they make with unadjusted ebita since things like corporate dinners, cars, flights, expansions and client gifts can be deducted. The irs can’t keep up with the corporations this size that play hide the pickle with deductions thats how trump got away with it for so long and he wasn’t lying everyone does it.
Fast food cost tax payers billions dur to the healthcare damage it causes
Who cares. Shouldn’t be eating this garbage anyway.
If you got food hot it would help ease the pain.
This just feels out of touch
Stopped buying it about a year ago, its way to absurd i think a dine in is cheaper now than McD’s everyone should stop buying fast food.
Stop eating at fast food chains and support local business instead.
All consumers hope to buy goods at lower prices, and all producers hope to earn more. We are often both producers and consumers, so this is a paradox.
Wait a second: minimum wage going up made prices go up? Businesses didn’t just ‘absorb’ those extra costs!? Are we living in a bizzaro world or something? /s
I’m honestly astonished how few people advocating for higher minimum wage either have no clue, or completely deny, the impact to pricing it produces.
You are straight up lying on behalf of these corporations, just like the “shoplifting is killing businesses” story y’all were running a while back that ended up being exposed as false. These companies are making record profit and trying to find a scapegoat to take the fall. If you get mad at the workers, congrats you are a rube.
They never addressed the forced increase in minimum wage for fast food restaurants that is also causing prices to go up.
