      Sure, but the fact that you can just plug them into a socket at your home and still get like 70 to 80 % of the range of a regular car, makes them very useful in certain applications and one of those applications is as a daily driver car.

      With other words, that they are less suited for long road trips doesn’t make them inherently bad, especially not when you look at how few people actually ever do long road trips and how often those who do actually do them.

      Arguably it makes sense to daily a EV and then just rent a petrol car for the 1 road trip you are doing every 2 or 3 years.

      My biggest concern with EVs always was the longevity of the batteries, but from what I read, it isn’t as much of an issue as my gut feeling tells me it would be.

      I read that modern car batteries degrade by like 3% to 5% for every 10 years of use.

      My gut feeling perspective is just skewed by remembering the day of early cell phones, where the batteries would lose like half their capacity after 1 or 2 years of use.
