Christian Cooper has recently found the spotlight whether he wants it or not. After an incident in Central Park in 2020 launched him into the epicenter of the media cycle, the country found his charm and passion for birding so endearing that National Geographic gave him a show to travel the world in search of birds. Now, he’s balancing his newfound fame and Emmy win, along with a New York Times best-selling novel, with the life he’s always known and found peace in — birding around the world and understanding that his passion must always come first.
It’s a similar experience for chef Rick Edge. With over 30 years of experience in the Northern California region, he has used his talents to develop new and exciting culinary programs at some of the finest hotels across the country. Now back home and working at the Bardessono resort, he’s able to finally settle and return to his roots — using a garden in the backyard of the hotel filled with local produce to help accentuate the California-inspired cuisine he’s known for.
Together, they join Carlton for a journey to a multigenerational lamb farm to discuss balancing their own personal lives and passions with the personas the rest of the world has come to recognize them for.

Honestly, NAPA valley is such a culinary gem. After moving from NYC to San Francisco bay, I have realized that a lot of the cooking that is done here lacks the pretentiousness that goes into the fine dining of the East coast. Napa Valley food scene is truly simple farm to table eating with the regions best ingredients
