This video examines Entertainment Weekly’s 2025 interview with four anonymous Oscar voters—a director, writer, publicist, and casting director—who admit to skipping Dune: Part Two. Their dismissive attitudes support the idea of a corrupt Academy Awards process driven by politics and multimillion-dollar campaigns rather than cinematic passion. This snub, amid the film’s critical and commercial success, fuels fans’ frustration with the Academy’s genre bias and raises doubts about the Oscars’ legitimacy as a celebration of filmmaking excellence.

@@tahnadana5435 Take a breath and step away from the keyboard. A movie doesn’t gross that much and have that much critical and audience acclaim for no reason. Now why don’t you go and make your own adaptation that you like more? Would that make you feel better?

The Oscars have been a Joke since 2008 when neither The Dark Knight nor Iron Man were Nominated for Best Picture. Also with 3 of the Avengers movies, Winter Soldier, and both Dune movies not winning as well in their respective Years just continues to show that Hollywood has no idea what a good movie is and they luck into their successes rather than purposefully make them. The Box Office is now the only true indicator of quality

@@mtverv Yeah, I can’t believe they didn’t honor the high art of the MCU. It’s also a disgrace that the Dune films only accumulated 16 nominations and 8 Oscars.

@@d-_-b8558 you are the one in the butt hurt brigade, these new dune outings wont make any impact on anything, just like all other denis villeneuve’s crap movies, why? because nothing about it is new, its just a rehash of tired ideas and the rest are just the same bait and switch BS
