It’s titled Civil War but it’s really just a road trip movie about Amy Schumer and Pablo Escobar pretending to be journalists in search of their next big story. The film wasn’t great but Kirsten Dunst was more convincing in her role as Schumer than Plemmons was as Elton John. I give it a 2 out of 10 despite it’s short comings only because a disgruntled employee at the snack bar hooked it up with a fistful of extrae Japs on my nachos. That was the only redeeming quality of this film. That and the fact that there wasn’t any nudity. Thankfully.

Felt the movie fell short of my expectations. Seemed to be more about the photo journalists journey than the actual civil war. Very little imagination was used to portray what it WILL be like.
It should have been a series .It didn’t go into who the enemies were and why the civil war started…

Was gonna see this until i saw the obviously ai created promo photos. AI has no place in the arts. It’s a shame they didn’t use a real artist, the movie looked ok.

I think that the Director Alex Garland probably took some of his Civil War map of the USA from the KGB Analyst Igor Panarin (spellling) who in 1998 predicted that the USA would collapse and break into 6 regions; I think it was the west, south, north and east ; Hawaii would go to Japan or the PRC and Alaska would go to Russia; see the Atlantic magazine article from 2010 (it has a map of the six regions that the USA would allegedly break into. the map seems somewhat similar to what Garland did in the film; Apparently, the KGB analyst was not a fringe figure in the KGB but well regarded and was the Dean of the Soviet Foreign Ministry’s league of future diplomats. However, if you simply read Niall Ferguson (UK historian on finance and collapse of empires globally over the past 4000 years); you can see that the USA is going bankrupt financially like the Soviet Empire and the Roman Empire and dozens of other empires over the past 4000 years. According to Ferguson, when the debt servicing (annual interest on an empire’s national debt) exceeds its annual military budget then the collapse is pretty swift after that inflexion (spelling) point. (The Atlantic Magazine map of USA collapse into 6 regions). History always repeats itself; our politicians of our great republic, the USA, simply are ignorant of history and believe that it somehow does not apply to the USA and that basic economics and basic finance does not apply to the U.S. dollar and/or the U.S. national debt. too bad they can not go back in a time machine and speak to the Romans during the Third Century Crisis A.D. or the last Emperors of the Tang Dynasty in imperial China during that horrific civil war; or the various factions of the Weimar Republic as they fought in the streets and the German economy collapsed from currency depreciation and hyperinflation etc. etc.

If you expect a movie like the trailer, don’t.
Wagner is such a great actor . Shame to see him like this.
I stayed till the end, at home i would have gone to bed and read a book.
Nothing happened until about 10 minutes left in the movie. Garbage film. 0 out of 10.

This is a very tense movie, it’s uncomfortable and loud. Tbh I think it achieves the center point and makes us to be very scary with everything that are going on in our world, about intolerance and political issues. I liked it!

I dont know as most Americans are armed enough for civil war. Though there exists huge numbers of wespons, over sixty percent of Americans own no weapon at all, and its really just a minority with multiple guns.
Are those multiple gun owners ready for war? Probably not. Most own weapons better suited for hunting deer than a US soldier in head to foot body armour and a fully automatic weapon.
As for military tank ownership, fewer than 1000 Americans own tanks, all are fully inoperative and most in museums.
There are way more people in the UK which has few handguns with vehicles of war operational. Smoothbore tanks do not even need to have the gun removed, and people even park them up (legslly) in the street.
And as for being combat fit، again rates of dangerously obese people are probably ten times higher than the UK.
The Americans fighting the war in this movie are carefully selected. Their levels of fitness closer to the averwge Brit. In reality many Americans resemble old timer Sammy.
