1. Onside kicks late game?

   1. Yeah I don’t even know how it will even work either.

2. How do onside kicks work?

   1. I think the same as usual but you have to be losing, you have to announce it, and only can do it in 4th quarter

4. No talk about how the returners were getting blown up? Sure its protected the coverage teams, but the hits on the returner had some weight and seem way more frequent than a traditional kick off.

In many sports you have a “Line Judge” so it makes sense to me if you have refs on the sidelines looking down the Offensive and Defensive line… and someone on the other side of the field who is strictly watching the ball hit the receiver’s hands and either waves a fair catch or GO sign, the on field referees would not have to swivel or use peripheral vision to know if anyone jumped… so basically we’re either looking at one Line judge across from the refs or one on each side of the neutral zone. Using Pac-Man’s “Shot Clock” reference, it could even be an Indicator being held similarly to the down marker, it would just have a “GO” light.

9. So what about surprise onside kicks?

10. Add a traffic light next to the play clock. Red before the kick. Yellow in the air. Green GO! And this can be automated. With all of the cameras and trackers and other tech they have, no problem.

11. It will look different when the apex players are out there and the bullets are live.

12. CHRIST!!! SHUT UP AND GET TO THE POINT. Pac-Man said maybe TWO SENTENCES. Take a breath. This is why people don’t want you on gameday. I like you but, You could have said ALL OF THAT in 3-5 minutes. At one point I literally said out loud “Get to the point”. Ugh, stretched it out an extra 10 minutes with long winded non stop word salad. Exhausting.

13. You can not place the ball at the 35 for touchbacks that would have been absurd only 5yard diff from touchback to out of bounds

I think any player who isn’t getting paid 15+ million a year would rather see the kickoff go back to the old school ways let’s guys hit let pure speed win and create a better product of football……the player association guys pushing for this safety stuff are guys who go have gotten huge contracts and get paid every year what about the rest of the guys

    1. It doesn’t. They’ve basically gotten rid of it.

18. Just go back to the old kickoffs. Trying to eliminate hard hits in a contact sport is so backwards.

19. How can a referee see when the returner touch the ball and the kick-off coverage players start at the same time?

20. You know at this rate I wouldn’t be surprised in the future if the NFL is gone at some point with all these rule changes and them adding more games when they really don’t need too.
