Lyndon B. Johnson created hundreds of social programs to “cure” poverty. But who would administer those programs? And how exactly would they work? No one seemed to know. No one seemed to care. The goal was noble, and that’s all that mattered. Renowned historian Amity Shlaes explains. This video was made possible by a generous gift from The Peter & Judy Copses Foundation.

Yeah, this is what he had planned all along. This wasn’t an accident. This is what he wanted. He wanted families and it’s kind of funny how you’re not using the words are telling us exactly what kind of family is that you put a photo of the families that it was affecting black families was incentivizing black families to have unmeritable sex and have children out of wedlock to separate destroying the nuclear family that was a part of the black community and the black community was so strong and was doing better economically than the white people in America so Lyndon B Johnson didn’t like that and he had to do something about it. All this information is on the same channel here pragerU
Two sincere questions:
1.) What have conservative leaders done to reduce the United States’ federal spending debt in the last 50 years?
2.) What solutions do conservative leaders propose to replacing medicare, medicaid, and the “many other entitlements?” How would they serve the American citizens who benefit from these great society programs?
1) The first GOP speaker in 75 years balanced the budget with help from Bill Clinton. 2) privatize everything- Bush tried and got slammed by the voters.
@@darbyheavey406 1) Yes, and this budget balance did not result in terminating any of the great society programs
2) Yes, privatizing all health care I’d an extremely unpopular position, one that has yet to be successful, as evidenced again by former president Trump’s admission of only “concepts of a plan” for replacing the Affordable Care Act.
1: Nothing. Now you know why Trump is so popular.
2: Replace? Why replace? Why not do away with altogether?
Johnson didn’t “win” a second term Imho.. he was a lunatic and a puppet.
JFK Sr was his FIRST direct victim….and on to the DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA 💣💥
In my personal rankings of US Presidents, I ranked him as the 10th worst president. His only bright spot was the Civil Rights Act of 1964. His extension of the welfare state was abysmal. He severely exacerbated the Vietnam War and more than 50,000 American service members died during his tenure among other horrific consequences. He also bugged Barry Goldwater’s campaign in 1964 with the help of the CIA but was spared from Nixon’s fate due to his underhanded relationship with the press.
People don’t know enough history to know what you know. One of my degrees was in Social Studies Education , so I’ve read about what you say. More than that though, I’m 72 and lived through it. I remember.
@@libertylady1952 Thank you sir! Also yes, most Americans are kept in the dark by the education system about LBJ’s true legacy.
Followed shortly by Goobers Carter’s boondoggles like the Department of Energy.
Thank you for this information.
Democrats have been communists since the 30’s. McCarthy woke up too late, since by the time of the hearings, the entire government had been infiltrated by radicals.
How should Medicare be changed?
Mr. KKK himself. Hated Kennedy
This guy singlehandedly destroyed the nuclear family, particular the BLACK nuclear family.
Black families were first, but the trend is everywhere.
It is beyond belief just how many stupid men have been presidents of the USA
He’s definitely one of the worst presidents. If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t have the 13/50 problem.
12/55, but ok.
#LBJ hated blacks, Jews, and Catholics. He was a disgrace following in Comrade Woodrow Wilson’s jack-booted footsteps.
Yes but Johnson had a big johnson. So I was told.
What did Johnson say, I will have Blacks voting Democrat for years.
These expenditures increased our GDP.
The civil rights law and voting rights laws that Johnson filibustered against when he was a senator.
The Left are Statists. ….they love it. What is American about that?
I accidentally listened to 10 min of npr the other day, I wanted to vomit
