   1. Because in regards to NBA rookies historically, he didn’t do anything significant. He didn’t break team records and he didn’t break any rookie records.

      Sure he got a lot of blocks, but his footwork and positioning is below average, and he struggles against the pick and roll. If he was better in those categories, he wins DPOY and we talk way more about him.
