The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone, officially launched in China on December 25, 2025, alongside a specialized Leica Edition. This device marks a significant upgrade in the company’s Ultra series, featuring advanced specifications and a strong emphasis on photography.
Key Specifications and Features:
Display: The Xiaomi 17 Ultra boasts a 6.9-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. It features Dragon Crystal Glass 3 or Xiaomi Ceramic Glass 2.0 for protection and offers HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. The display also incorporates 1920Hz PWM dimming and DC dimming for eye comfort.
Processor: It is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship octa-core 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. The device includes a dual ring-shaped liquid cooling pump for improved thermal management.
Memory and Storage: The phone offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 onboard storage.
Cameras: The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel main sensor (1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor), a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with continuous optical zoom and Leica’s Apochromatic optical certification, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. It is capable of recording up to 4K resolution videos. The front camera is a 50-megapixel OV50M selfie shooter, also supporting 4K video recording. The Leica Edition includes a unique “Master Zoom Ring” for mechanical control over photography parameters.
Battery: The device is equipped with a substantial 6,800mAh Jinshajiang battery, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. It also offers 22.5W reverse wired and 20W reverse wireless charging, along with 90W PPS universal protocol support. However, the global variant is expected to feature a smaller battery.
