It will be interesting to see how this compares to UK’s The World at War – which had over 30 episodes. The strength of that series was its dozens and dozens of interviews with civilians to soldiers and generals who had experienced WW II personally. It also looked at life on “the homefront” in the US, Britain, Germany and Japan. (It is not just a “greatest battles” collection.) I still consider this doc to be the gold standard.
