Are Electric Vehicles the way of the future or have they been turned into a political buzzword? Join Thespicer as he explores the world of EV’s and some of their downfalls. From the materials like Cooper, Lithium and Cobalt to the finished product, we’ll look at the lesser known side of the so called future of automobiles.
Some of the problems EV’s currently face are based around the numerous material used in their construction, require significantly more rare earth metals that generally aren’t produced in the US. The extraction and refining of these materials put Electric cars in a deficit in regards to their carbon footprint before they even roll off the assembly line.
Aside from the heavier materials requirements for EV’s from companies like Tesla, Lucid, Chevy, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Ford and so on, the power being provided to these cars and trucks are largely coming from oil, gas or coal power plants. Even California, the US’s “greenest” state, the majority of their energy comes from non-green source imported from different states. While EV’s may not produce green house emissions themselves, they contribute to a much larger, global effort harming the environment.
We also have to factor in the difficulties of maintaining their batteries and putting them out in the worst case. While fires may not be wide spread, these fires are much hard to put out as compared to a regular internal combustion engine car. Along with this risk and ever degrading battery, these cars are typically heavier, meaning more road work and more emissions.

Converting existing ICE cars to have an EV power train would save a lot of the emissions from building a new chassis. Modern cars look awful anyways.
I agree with you on the looks, not sure why EV’s all kinda look goofy. That being said they’d still have the same issues in terms of their off set. Sure they themselves wouldn’t generate emissions but the power needed to charge them would still largely be coming from mostly nonrenewable sources. Plus all the materials needed for the conversion would still be the same.
Peter Zion is a peddler of disaster porn; as his books and social media content are full of scary predictions designed to appeal to the public’s fears and insecurities, which results in high book sales and a lot of viewers. He has failed to learn from those making religious predictions; in that countless of those who make predictions make the mistake of claiming they will occur in our lifetime, or even worse in the near future. When these predictions fail to occur; which has happened with many of Peter’s predictions, it undermines your credibility as it is currently doing to his credibility. I have seen so many of his videos where he claims x will happen in the next 90 days, or even in a week, and those events have yet to occur. Like others predicting financial collapse; simply due to the cycle of such an economic crisis, he like others will eventually be right, and like others he will use this as proof he can predict world events. Sadly, Peter and so many other making predictions fail to see the harm they are doing; due to the disillusionment, fear, and even depression his predictions produce in many of the public. If you look at the energy sector; we are on the verge of abundant energy which will transform the face of society.
I do agree with you that; we need to transform the world’s power grid into green ones, my hope is we can mine the Moon, Mars, and beyond for resources and stop destroying the world’s ecosystem.
