We attempted to cook a giant pancake on the job site- Don’t worry that was our first try…
We made the batter from scratch- 24 cups of flour- or 2 full hardhats, 2 ¼ cups of sugar, 2 Tablespoons of Salt, and a ¾ cup of baking powder.
Next, I cracked open 24 eggs and used my drill to beat them up.
Time for the butter- 6 full sticks melted. I used my blow torch for this, and it worked awesome.
Now if you’re wondering- we did 12 times the normal measurements for this recipe.
I combined the eggs, melted butter, and 21 cups of milk all together and dumped it into our five-gallon bucket with the dry ingredients.
I made a mixing attachment for my CAT auger- this thing worked perfect for mixing – tons of power.
I raked the charcoal into a circle and threw down our 4-foot pan.
Our first attempt was a disaster, but we had high hopes for the second one.
Flipping this pancake was harder than we thought- but we got it.
Once it was on the sawhorses, we added butter and a full jug of syrup.
I used my leaf blower to dust it with powdered sugar and we were ready to eat this bad boy.
Let me know in the comments- what should we cook next? @hausplans
