One of the most overrated singers. The hype and awards around her music always far exceeded its quality and impact. I have always found it funny that she holds more Grammy Awards than Aretha, Celine, Whitney and Mariah do combined. The hype and awards were pre-requisites to building her brand rather than the outcome of her success. She totally rules the music industry with Jay-Z and one needs to be blind not to see this. Only few of her known songs have actual melody and are memorable. The music videos are all well-crafted, of course, and she is undeniably good-looking. I think Deja-vu is her best one. But these compilation clips of her discography are just a reminder of how far one can go with actual strong marketing and networking.
