I just saw the movie last night and I loved it. No joke, my older sister cried 12 TIMES when watching this with me and my mom.
You mention the cameos in that bit then totally forget to mention the creator of wicked appearing seconds later lol. Sorry Stephen, they forgot you!
Not knowing anything about Wicked besides the broad strokes, I’m curious how people felt about Ariana’s take. I loved how Galinda came off as someone so utterly blindly naive, born with so many gifts and yet jealous of the one she doesn’t have. She never feels malicious or truly mean, however, more like a person who means well but has never had to actually *think* about what might be the right thing when it isn’t spelled out for her. Is that consistent with the character?
Loved the play. You can NOT replace Idina and Kristen. Loved the movie. Cynthia and Ariana did an amazing job. Most of the things mentioned in this “Top 10 Ways The Movie differs from the Musical” aren’t accurate. The movie did an amazing job filling things that can’t be done on stage. However all of the story line concepts in the movie were definately present in the stage play.
I’ve seen the play half a dozen times in several parts of the country with several different actors. I’ve seen the movie several times now, and absolutely love them both. But, Idina and Kristen made these parts what they are. Can’t wait for part 2
