The Zephyr is not your usual aircraft.
It only travels at 40mph, it is launched by hand and it is completely solar-powered.
The unmanned craft flies high in the atmosphere, to avoid commercial air traffic and adverse weather.
So, what exactly is it used for?

The way this interviewer moves annoys me.
Idiots. They should try to make a strato-zeppelin. It would stay in skyes for years, and almost geo-stationary, which would be lot better than circeling aeroplane
So that’s what a gay/emo/whatever other letters you wanna stick in here……. version of a plane looks like.
Why not a launch battery. It uses the battery to push the plane at full throttle through the weather and then when it’s depleted it’s dropped with a small parachute and retrieved. This would allow them to launch the plane anywhere and even from boats like for the military.
