ile tell u why in comparrison to both Lower Decks and JJ (Star Trek4) its all to do with funding to the budget.
if theres no funding to the budget of both of them then they cant get green lit. Even Alex Kurtzmen himself Admitted that he stated that Season 5 of Star Trek Discovery was gonna be the final Season of Discovery before that was cancelled cuz there was not enough financial funding for a 6th season for that. JJ Abrams himself has often learned cautiously about managing and getting financial funding for a budget in order to get green lit for things like Star Trek 4 and same thing ofc happened and succesfuly got done with another season of Lower decks since that i hear got green lit for another season.
