You’ll never believe what happened, CAT invited The New Guy to their Edward J Rapp Center for some training.
Right away they got him suited up in hi-vis. Luckily, they had his size.
With someone at his experience level- they wanted to start him out in this compact loader- But he had other ideas and picked out this 938.
After a quick safety meeting and teaching him all the controls; they had him run through an obstacle course.
The goal was not to knock any basketballs off the cones, but I don’t think he understood the directions because he knocked most of the cones over and popped a bunch of the basketballs.
Next, and this is where things got interesting… They had him load a truck with gravel.
I think he spilled as much on the ground as he got in the truck, and after he did get some gravel in- He gave the side of the truck a nice smack.
But I was impressed with how patient the instructors were with him- they pulled him over and gave him some good advice.
After he set his kickouts and with a little more practice, he was loading trucks like a pro by the end of the day. @hausplans
