😂
Sersha or sirsha
Is the R silent ?
I’ve heard it SUR-sha and SEER-sha
Dawg you’re saying the same thing
The difference is the pronounciation of the i. Sersha vs sair-sha.
isk if ppl are just dumb, there’s a fuckin difference!! i can clearly hear it lmao e
Just please don’t ever call a Sorcha this. Completely different name and the Correct way for sorcha is a thrust kkhh sound
Not the Wesley Crushers, the Wesley Crushers…
I can hear a difference, but it isn’t big. But I have spend a lot of time in Ireland and since Saoirse is not a common name outside of Ireland, this is really to be expected.
Slavic, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and Nordic names get butchered in the US too and I would imagine this would apply to many other names too.
I think Saoirse is being kind to Americans. Most American’s I have heard are FAR worse at pronouncing Saoirse. They butcher names like Xuxa, Anais, Niamh, Knut, Bjorn, Zbigniew and Guillaume.
In other words Irish, French, Spanish, Slavic and Scandinavian names often destroyed by Americans. I would imagine its the same for Chinese, Korean and Japanese names.
Scarface – world is yours 🗺️ 🌍
I’m certain she is so tired of explaining this to pronounce her name every single interview
Would it kill her to explain the pronunciatian? Ffs Margot Robbie isn’t even American OR English! She’s Aussie, and culturally we’re much closer to Irish.
My daughter’s name and even I have trouble saying it as an Australian. 🤦🤣
🫶
For Irish I think it’s Sur-Sha and for Americans Ser-sha. This is just based on my hearing 😂
Irish say “Seer-sha”
Que mujer mas hermosa es Saorsie
You say toe-may-toe, I say toe-may-toe…
Saoirse is like soizic in breton. Like françoise in french. Frank => free man. Franked.
So its not further gaelic or celtic name. Its origin of latin.
saaaaaasha*sigh* 😞
