Russia strikes Kyiv ahead of US-Ukraine peace talks | BBC News

The Ukrainian capital Kyiv was hit by Russian missiles and drones overnight, ahead of talks to end the war.

At least one person was killed and 28 others were injured in Kyiv, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported.

As the fighting continues, so does the work to get a peace deal that all sides can agree to. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday.

But following the latest Russian strikes, Zelensky has repeated his claim that Russia “does not want to end the war and is trying to use every opportunity to inflict more pain on Ukraine”.

Meanwhile, Russia’s defence ministry said its air defences destroyed seven Ukrainian drones overnight.

  1. When Ukraine attack anywhere in Russia whether its drones through civilian workplaces or car bombs it’s praised and celebrated with the phrase Slav Ukraine 😂

But when Russia respond with 300 missiles 200 drones it’s the same people in the comments crying claiming Putin is a war criminal Putin is the devil
Russia don’t want peace they only want to target civilians 😂
    😂😂

    It’s soooo hypocritical man 😂😂

  2. Gee, what a surprise that the “peace talks” start with Russia bombing Kiev. Trump is a FOOL if he thinks Russia will withdraw, and a monster if he thinks Ukraine will give up their country.

  3. Why does NATO and Europe allow Trump and Putin plan bullying pretext peace deals with Ukraine to allow Russia to continue genocide in Ukraine and steal lands & Nuclear power energy from Ukraine?
