S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl may one day be a great game, but right now it’s simply not ready for launch. Poor performance, myriad bugs and numerous under-baked and imbalanced design elements terminally wound the experience. There’s definitely something here that’s worth returning to in future, but right now would be the worst possible moment to make an expedition into The Zone.

I’d rather buy malware and intentionally install it.
ukraine is literally hell, huh?
thank you for your honest review!
Thanks for the warning. I will give this another year. I am really looking forward to playing this when it is ready to release.
28:16 STALKER 2 will never have co-op. The CEO said as much. Damn man….this review was a bit of a mess overall. Picking up random stuff you don’t need which (if it’s like the originals) sells for pennies on the pound (and then complaining about being over encumbered), trying to stealth attack a dude in a thiccc as fuck exo suit, like come on.
Long story short: Go play Metro Exodus
Ralph, bro, I’m also day-1, have put in about 4 hours so far (gettin old sucks), have a fraction of the rig you ran it on (All AMD, R9 5900X, RX 6800XT, 32gb RAM), and my game runs noticably better than anything in your clips.
I also disabled mouse-smoothing and acceleration in the INIs (a UE5 issue, a personal gripe, tbh) and have zero feeling of unresponsiveness. Have yet to have gunfire audio cut-out. Never seen texture warpage. I run in ultrawide, 3440x1440p, 66% scaling with FSR3 set to Quality. AA, DoF, and motion blur disabled in the INI, along with the mouse-smoothing, as mentioned. That’s all.
I know reviews are subjective and all, but it deserves to be said it seems hardware might play a significant factor in your visually-proven critique of your own experience playing. It honestly is like watching a buggy Switch port of the same game.
And guys, preemptively, I’m not trying to make this a red-v-green thing, I listed my specs just to clarify his rig should be *absolutely* outperforming mine. Even the audio-bug seems like a genuine hardware-incompatibility issue more than a bug. And again, do we know if his audio drivers are any good? Do we know if it’s an issue with Intel-based CPUs, specifically, maybe? Theres so many factors at play but the fact that I can’t even replicate ‘breaking’ the gunfire audio by dumping mag after mag into walls is.. bizarre. And he’s 100% right.. you cant really recommend a game when it’s that big of a wildcard, if guns will make sound for you or not..
..what is it with this game series and the meta-level bugs?!
…also please switch to Ukrainian V.O. with English subs.
Please.
For the love of god.
I just bought it. I have played every other stalker game and this looks way less broken.
After playing for 6 hours on Xbox Series X I have hardly any issues. Shill Up talking nonsense again. The game is very good in its current state. You sir are a joke!
