Bahtiyar is a soldier in a non-disciplined barrack, and he falls in love with Mihriban whom he sees by the fountain and asks to marry her. Mihriban also loves him, but the commander of the barracks, Colonel Riza, asks to marry her, and her father accepts. Bahtiyar steals the uniform of commander and goes to ask to marry Mihriban. He introduces himself as Colonel Bahtiyar, the right hand of Karaman Pasha.
