Hot take: though he was rusty, his ~25 comeback games at the end of the 94-95 season (culminating in a loss to Orlando) would prove to be the end of Jordan’s prime years.
94-95 Mike still moved like 92-93 Mike. Compare these two years’ playoff highlights.
1996 MJ moved very differently.
Another hot take: Tim Grover put too much weight on MJ summer of 95. This hastened the decline of his athletic prime. For the record, Jordan was overly bulked in 1993 as well.
Hot take 3: Grover is an effective trainer, but wasn’t perfect with MJ. He did good things but also made mistakes with his workout & diet. Some big ones. After 91-1992 bulking, Tim should have left well enough alone. Tendinitis was MJ’s biggest issue. Jordan played his best at his 1991 weight. The extra lbs eventually messed up Mike’s knees.
