Wow. I forgot about this video. I was thinking that instead of tornados in LA they should have hit LA with a powerful hurricane since California does get hit by weak hurricanes that sometimes form off of the west coast of Mexico then turn northeast. Also wanted to add that in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Chekov and his captain beam down into a dust storm. They have spacesuits so are quite protected. When they attempt to leave the shelter they find, they encounter Khan and his men who we see wearing goggles, robes, and protective scarves coming out of the storm. The storm has flying dust and high wins and the two starfleet crewmen remark on the visibility being very poor.
Maybe it’s different in California, but here in Florida I don’t think you’re committing a crime by ignoring a mandatory evacuation. Many people here ignore mandatory evacuation orders, even if it’s foolhardy to do so and they often pay the price for it. The difference between a mandatory and voluntary evacuation here is just that under a mandatory evacuation order, emergency services won’t be available during or some time after the event in that area. Mainly because they wouldn’t be able to reach you even if they tried.
Honestly I stopped. I couldn’t get through your “explanation” of the day after tomorrow. It is like you didn’t watch the movie at all. And your explanations don’t even cover what is actually said to be happening in the movie
i really enjoyed this video! the insights on how natural disasters are portrayed in media were fascinating. but honestly, i think sometimes the dramatic flair overshadows the real science behind these events. it would be cool to see a more balanced view that doesn’t just focus on the excitement but also the true impact on people and the environment. what do you all think?
