Reece uses his personal experience from his life in early high school to describe his rapid change from being self-conscious and having low self-esteem to becoming a self-confident teenager. He outlines the steps in which he used to make that change and encourages others to learn from his journey. Reece describes his change in demeanour by utilizing five, specific steps: “Find yourself”, “Stop caring what others think of you”, “Surround yourself with encouragement”, “Self-assess your attitude” and “Be humble”.
Reece Doppenberg is a engaging, outgoing, ambitious and determined grade 12 student in Langley, British Columbia. He enjoys public speaking, poetry, music and science. Reece is very active within his school, is a multi-instrumentalist and takes part in many leadership roles within the community. After high school, Reece plans to study sciences with hopes of becoming a doctor and eventually joining and contributing to initiatives like Doctors Without Borders.
