Kevin Bacon returns to ‘Footloose’ high school after students contribute to his nonprofit #shorts

Kevin Bacon, American actor and star of the 1984 musical Footloose, returned to Payson, Utah, on Saturday, April 20, visiting the very same high school where the movie was filmed.

Footage released by Bacon’s foundation, SixDegrees.org, shows his address to students and fans gathered at the school’s stadium on Saturday.

“When I first heard about this Bacon-to-Payson thing I was like ‘Wow, this is crazy,’ but you were all just tireless, unrelenting, in your desire to have me return and you talked me into it,” Bacon said.

Students at the school had been trying to secure a visit from Bacon, rallying under the hashtag #BaconToPayson.

The visit was confirmed in March and carried out in support of SixDegrees.org, which distributes bags containing food, toiletries, and other essentials to homeless people.

The visit came just in time for both Footloose’s 40th anniversary and before Payson High School’s planned demolition in 2025.
