  1. Disney may be on my poop list, but I’m delighted they created such a wonderful film of _Hamilton._ I saw it in 2022, when I was 66. I’m a white Southern lady, and I know absolutely zero about rap and hip-hop, but I try to have an open mind about changing forms of popular music. After all, I vividly remember people in 1964 saying the Beatles were “just noise.” I was only eight, but I made a promise to myself I’d never sweepingly dismiss musical forms, and let me tell you, I’m glad I held on to the mindset. _Hamilton_ knocked me right out. “Guns and Ships” is a rap _tour de force,_ and Daveed Diggs absolutely killed it, along with “What’d I Miss?” Yes, Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius, and he has been a Godsend to the US, in my carefully considered opinion. One of the many aspect of his genius is his ability to choose the ideal cast. If I met him, I’m pretty sure I’d be reduced to fangirl giggling and stammering.

  2. I had to introduce my mom to Hamilton after watching Ghosts and the constant beef between Nigel and Hamilton. I showed her the original pitch, at the whitehouse, when Lin was performing in front of Obama.

Idk how she missed seeing it when ive been open in my obsession and passing that on to my nephews and neice.

Also, jumpscare Darren Chris at the end caught me off guard. Its Harry friggin Potter!

  3. I fell in love with Jonathan Groff at Spring Awakenings, opposite Leah Michelle. How many years ago was that!?

  4. I found the second act of Hamilton too long, with a lack of memorable songs. Personally enjoyed the first Act more…
