Warning: this episode contains descriptions of war.
When Ukrainian troops crossed over into Russia two weeks ago, it appeared at first to be a largely symbolic gesture. But in the time since, it has emerged as a potentially pivotal moment in the war.
Andrew Kramer, the Kyiv bureau chief for The Times, explains what’s behind the audacious Ukrainian operation, and Anton Troianovski, the Moscow bureau chief, explains how Russia’s response could reshape the conflict.

Background reading:
• Planned in secrecy, the incursion was a bold move to upend the war’s dynamics and put Moscow on the defensive — a gambit that could also leave Ukraine exposed (https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/13/world/europe/ukraine-russia-war-kursk-offensive.html) .
• President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to hold Russian territory as leverage in future talks. In Moscow, many doubt the strategy (https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/19/world/europe/ukraine-russia-zelensky-putin-ceasefire.html) .

PNAC PROXY WAR
Aww less and less support for the nazis..
I think Ukraine has made a big mistake by entering the Russian main land. Doing that only unites the Russian people behind Putin. Even though Russia is fighting on the grounds of Ukraine, they wouldn’t go any further than the land that they think is theirs, which incidentally is Ukraine which could be said is a part of Russia. What really cast this war, is NATO and the united states are getting too close to the Russian border and Ukraine and other countries are giving them access to their land. But one thing I can tell you, in the coming months if the people of Russia dont overthrow the Putin government then they will stand behind him and defend their country in a all out war that can be end up in a 3 world war.
