In this video, I show you how to install a Ring Video Doorbell! I do a doorbell unboxing and show you everything that it comes with; the doorbell itself, the bracket to hold the doorbell, an installation tool kit, instruction manual(but this video will be your instructions!), and a charger for the doorbell. This is very easy and you can definitely do it yourself! I am not sponsored by Ring, this is just a video I made on my own to show you how to install one.

Hey everyone, since some people have been asking… You only have to remove the Ring to charge it if you do not hook it up to an existing doorbell. I’m sorry I should have clarified that. So to be clear if you do not hook it up to existing wiring you need to remove and charge, otherwise the doorbell wires will charge it if you have it hooked up.
Also, doorbell wires are low voltage, they can not shock you and all that happens when you touch them together is the doorbell goes off. If it makes you feel better you can shut off the power in your panel but is not necessary.

Thanks for watching! 😃
Can this be hooked up to a android cell phone would love to know thank you very much for this video
If you have a digital doorbell you might have a DC transformer. Ring will not charge from a DC current, you will have to replace your transformer to an old school AC transformer.
Okay thanks for clarifying! I’m terrible with wiring and easy things like this and I wouldn’t have gotten the courage to instal this on my own without you saying I wasn’t going to die if I didn’t know where to go turn off the power 😂
Thank you!!!
Great video & clarification.
I had one of these about a year ago someone stripped the nut and I never could get the camera off again to charge it and use it. I now just got another one in today. I missed it and I am waiting on my ring video door bell to charge. How long does it take do you remember ? Your tip about the existing wiring. Made me wish I had existing wiring then I wouldn’t have to take it down at all right ?
4:39 You don’t turn off the power before working on it?
What if I’m replacing it with a wireless doorbell? How do I dismantle my wired current doorbell safely? It looks like I’m just going to cover it up
Only thing I didn’t realise is the doorbell does not ring so you can hear in the house
you don’t get any of this stuff anymore just the doorbell and release tool
What if you have wires but don’t want to use them. How would you store them behind it?
Didn’t explain about the chime connection. After connecting the ring doorbell and reconnecting the power, my chime is ringing continuously.
Thank you for your video. I purchased a Ring video doorbell from Amazon. The only hardware in the box were the video doorbell (faceplate and mounting plate), screws and anchors and a little blue screwdriver that looks like a tiny star. Of course, your video is very helpful, but it was made in 2020, so that might be why my tool kit contained different pieces and not all the pieces that your had. I would like to watch a video on changing a transformer as well, if you have made one. Appreciate your instruction. I really hope you are right about the low voltage. (Just kidding)😵💫
bro, i like how you didnt turn the power off, i will do it like that, because my fuse box dont tell me which one is for doorbell. So the way you did shows you dont need to do that. 👍
What keeps anyone from walking away with it.?
If it recharges repeatedly, it is a defect product
fyi might be more wise to cut power to the doorbell before playing with the wires. if you see the doorbell still light up it aint off and power still go trough it
Great video.
We seem to have two issues. The house bell is not working with the Ring and the ring battery is not charging with our existing wiring.
I now have some good info to troubleshoot.
Thank you.
How often do you have to take the doorbell off and charge it?
I charge mine once every 3-4 months because we don’t get much front door activity. Charging takes about 8 hours though. So I always make sure to charge in the morning so it’ll be ready to be popped back in before it gets dark.
I did not install mine others do it. I’m Looking how remove . I see there a screw in the bottom. I try to unscrew and remove .
Y is my chime over heating
lol…my dog is barking like crazy after you rang the doorbell
😂
Excellent video, very detailed oriented, clear and user friendly.
Damn I got to make Youtube videos! My electric wired door bell is not in a good location its too low like yours, i just installed the Battery ring and its higher in a line of sight location.
I think its terrible you installed it there really no bueno. But I guess you showed others how to install it, but just in a bad location
So, a wired ring doorbell needs a battery too?
Yes, the battery always stays inside and is always charged to 100% from those wires. You never have to take it out. Without a battery inside it won’t work.
