How-to and Reviews
Does it ring?
Does it work without the jumper?
Do you have to use the jumper cables for it work or can I not use them so my chime will still work

Best part of the video. You scared the living SH!+ out of yourself
👍🏿
lol.
Super useful, thanks!
Glad you found the video helpful!
Agree with all the comments: great directions with no fluff. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback!
The bell does not sound after installing the bridge… is common?
Yes, that’s normal by design. The jumper wire bypasses it to supply constant power to the ring doorbell.
Wow this video is the goat
What does the trans and front mean?
Instructions unclear, don’t have a doorbell or a doorbell chime unit
If you don’t have a doorbell or a doorbell chime unit use the ring plug in adapter to restore power . However you have to drill a hole inside your home
@TheWorldsmostdrippiestkid i’ve got plugs nearby so shouldn’t be a problem
The white light around the doorbell is not coming on for me. Any ideas? I’ve tried wrapping the wire coils around each screw but it doesn’t seems to work
Cool video 😮 thanks 😊
You’re welcome!
Nice and complete easy to understand.
Mercy- I hope it’s as easy as you demonstrate. 🙏 🤞
You got this! 💪
Can I make my own jumper?
Absolutely.
Very clearly explained, thanks a lot for the video!
I tried installing my new doorbell like this (although it’s a Xiaomi one instead of Ring, but its instructions are exactly the same, including short-circuiting the chime terminals with a little jumper cable included), and once I turn the electricity back on, the old chime starts ringing, and it’s just continuously ringing.
Do you know why that might be? Might it be that with the type of wired chime I had installed (it’s a digital one, not mechanical, if that matters), short-circuiting the chime terminals is not needed?
Thanks
Whats the jumper cable for ?
It bypasses the chime to deliver constant power to the ring doorbell.
If you use the standard Ring wired doorbell you have to use the jumper to send constant power to the camera. Would have been nice to know that first. Now I have to return the one I bought and pay more for the doorbell/chime combo. No video, including this one, pointed that out.
Im just imagining my mother harrassing me while i try to intall so i most likely will get wireless. She catastrophizes everything
This video is wrong, you only use that jumper cable for a specific doorbell, not all of them.
