In September, “Days of our Lives” lost beloved star Drake Hogestyn, who passed away from pancreatic cancer. As the cast and crew of “Days” gather to celebrate the show’s 59th anniversary and head into the 60th season, Drake was very much on their minds. At the celebration, Access spoke to stars Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols about their late co-star and what it was like to shoot funeral scenes for his character John Black during the final months of his cancer battle. “I do believe that the way the story is told, the fans will be very happy,” Stephen said. “They had a lot of flashbacks of him – I mean, really honors him, which is really beautiful,” Mary Beth added. Access Hollywood’s exclusive sit-down with Deidre Hall, who was Drake’s longtime leading lady on “Days,” airs on Nov. 12. “Days of our Lives” is streaming now on Peacock.
