  1. They wore straw hats? That’s immensely disappointing to me, how can you be a pirate without the tricorn hat?

  2. “Pirate Support” just makes me think you call them for pirate business, like “Now ye be sure you tied both ends before keelhauling?”

    1. Yes it was. It wasn’t a punishment strictly reserved for pirates and it wasn’t always done to fatally injure or kill the victim. But it was brutal and horrible

  3. Black Beard it’s portrayed so good in the video game, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, including many other pirates

  5. A lot of these videos seem to be about western culture and history- like the folklore one was mainly western- which is very interesting but I’d love to hear more about other countries.

  6. So they wore straw hats and shorts hmm… and they start off on rowboats and build up to bigger ships listen I know one piece isn’t super realistic but like come on

  7. “Often, West Africa, the coastal communities were the ones who had actually gone out as slave hunters and sold you into slavery”

Can you repeat that? People asking for reparations for slavery didn’t hear you.

  8. I read that pirates were also hired by english monarchs to attack only spanish ships, but you say they attacked whomever
