   This Captain Dobey would have changed the series for the better.
   There’s no way they would have made Dobey into a comic foil if they had stuck with the original actor.

7. Does anyone remember in which episode they ended up driving off a pier? Starsky kept bugging Hutch by yelling out his name over and over in the middle of a car chase, and at the end he did have a valid reason – as it went flying into the water.

8. Similar for me. I was 11 when this was on. I used to make a lot of model cars as a kid, and I remember making a model of that Grand Torino. Those were the days for sure when we had positive role models to look up to. RIP David, thank you for being a part of my childhood.

10. Watching this again after fifty years, I am struck by the quality of the acting and dialog. Much better than the average seventies tv show.
