Looks like a game you need multiple hour sittings to play. Wish I had the time, just watching the video to me two sittings.
A speed runnet can achieve Sattelite launch in under 3 hours, probably in coop MP, but a more reasonable time for knowkedgeable play that takes detours to have fun instead of beelining for launch, might be 40 hours for one player or 25 for two.

No, Factorio is a sandbox. If you prefer your sandbox without aggressive bugs, or prefer that the first 4 or 6 hours of gameplay be non-violent, then you do that.
There’s a lot of fun and artistry in making an elegantly functioning factory with a high degree of automation.

Did Vinny save before jumping between each of these saves? I didn’t see it but maybe he did. If he wasn’t why the heck was he so obsessed with making sure something was being researched and why didn’t he just reload the save when the train left him at that one station… o Vinny…
