Every Dog Breed Explained (Part 1) | WIRED
Make the parks golden again
Of course whippets are couch potatoes, they’re sight hounds, bred for speed, not endurance.
“Always a black mask” no mask
I love my dog.
We should stop the pure breeding since there are so many genetic diseases and disabilities that happen in pure breed dogs. Call it for what it is, it’s inbreeding
Basically nothing said about ibizans?? 😮
14:00 if you ever watched “Where The Red Fern Grows” you know how special this dog is to me
Why don’t they alter the breed standards so the dogs can be more healthy. The French bulldog is sentenced to life time respiratory Insufficiency, and the German shepherds have been bred into bad hip health. What kind of owner does that to an animal they say they adore.
Love all the sighthounds but especially whippet and greyhound ❤ I have one of each 🐾🥰
If you’re only covering AKC breeds, that’s not every dog breed. It’s the one AKC recognizes. Lots of breeds do not want AKC recognition.
I had a red bone coonhound, and she was crazy. She would tree a raccoon so fast, and without training. Her prey drive was unbelievable!
13:23 obsessed w the fact that the beagles come in the same sizing distinctions as my laptop
No rottweiler?
17:54 in Nigeria 🇳🇬we call the Basenji “N’kita” which also means Dog in English.
4:05 no laekenois?
Very well put together content! Interesting and enthusiastically presented. Learned something.
Thank you, WIRED, for inviting Gail Miller Bisher to share her extensive knowledge with us in a bite-sized, fun format.
What type of dog is dis? Is dis a cat in a hat?
Basenji’s are the dogs most closely/historically related to ancient Egypt and are depicted in drawings, hieroglyphs and ancient Egyptian artefacts. NOT the Ibizan or Pharaoh hound. In fact neither of those dog breeds have any African lineage. However, Basenjis are native to the African continent and were given as gifts to and by the Pharaohs of Egypt. The Egyptians believed that the Basenjis were living amulets.
Finally, waited 20 mins to see my laughing Dutchman lol
