The JAZZ SINGER? WTF
That must have been the Neil Diamond version made about 1980 and not the famous 1927 one with Al Jolson.

Well I wonder if Walter Mondale has a chance in 84 LOL
I love how the best part of this clip is the vintage trailer for Raiders. To think it was once a new movie haha.
Funny how it took over 15 years before VCRs were replaced with DVDs and they only lasted less than 10, and Blu Ray, lol at the sucker who bought a blu ray player when nearly every computer comes with one standard.
+canuckster24 Most computers do not come with a Blu-ray drive. Gaming systems do, but computers, that’s a bit more rare.

I’m impressed that they already had CDs and LaserDiscs in 1982. Thanks for posting!
+Shivadasa Laserdiscs go back to the late 1970s.

TDK quality blank tapes cost about 10-12 bucks a pop back then. That’s ridiculous. 750 bucks in 1981. God. I’ll wait til next year to buy that new car.
Walter Mondale? WTF??!!?
i worked for ron back on maui, Wailea Golf Estates 1984. Ron and Jean are also Godparents to my daughter Ashley..
2:26 Chuckle.
At the time this aired, Blockbuster and most other major video rental shops hadn’t been founded yet.
Now we have dvds blu ray 3d 4k and digital hd
then: VCR’s cost 700
now: you can find one at a garage sale for a buck
then: DVD players started at 2500
now: they give away for free at grand openings for stores
funny how fleeting “state of the art” lasts
That perm is more sophisticated than anything!
Dat yellow shag carpet
The world was so simple in 1981. Poor Ron makes it sound so complex.
Hey look, it’s ‘Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown’ on CED
oh god i remember my family having a vcr like that when i was a kid. i was only 3 months old when this aired and wow this show has changed SOOO MUCH lmaooooo this is more like watching local news from some southern state
I remember the very first time I went to a video store. It was November 1981 and I was 7 years old. My parents took me there, but not to rent a tape. I vaguely remember us there just to look around. My father had purchased a VCR for the family in 1979, however, we never rented a tape before. I remember begging them to rent Flash Gordon for me and my mom saying, “but it was coming on HBO next week.” I cried & cried and saw Flash Gordon on HBO. I’ll never forget it.
