Testing Gamer vs Non-Gamer Brains: How Do Video Games Affect You? | WIRED
The “Pro Gamer” don’t use the peripheral vision as supposed in the test, technically he was cheating, he never look at the blue square as supposed, it’s like see if a regular person can type in a keyboard without see the keyboard and the gamer type the keyboard by looking the keboard, the speed never will be the same. not like test if a gamer can type faster than a secretary. and the “Pro Gamer” don’t represent the average gamer, not even the average “Pro Gamer”. The tests show it here don’t follow a rigurous control.
why would you test with a PRO player? Ofc he will be better than average human being. He naturally have big intellect than this host. That’s why he became pro.
Test yourself with just average video games enjoyer
I feel like honestly gaming made me smarter as a kid, but dumber as an adult. Or maybe I’d be even dumber if I didn’t play games
the best players will always shine they are just naturally freaks at the game and any interference will probably put a real pro off
“pro gamer” and they put there a league of legends player. I get it, the game is hard to learn and everything but the game itself was never viewed as a enjoyable time worthy game. Obviously he will have great reaction times because the game is about that. But what about comparing a normal gamer that plays actual games instead of those esport bullshits?
I am investigating a just using your brain
you could do bigger progress without gaming
11:05 the thumb thing happened to me once so annoying
You are wired man 🤣😂 in a good way
Video games & technology in general has:
-Increased my typing speed
-Advanced my multi tasking skills
-GREATLY improved my vocabulary, grammar, and overall knowledge
-Improved my reaction time
-Greatly improved my Hand-Eye coordination
-Decreased my chances of getting any bitches.
Playing video games makes you good at playing video games.
If I’m not working, or working on my cars or driving them. I definitely play games on my free time, and definitely have noticed my reaction time drastically improved, along with my decision making skills under pressure.
When you start focus in yourself, you will realize that gaming is a waste of time
I see many people in the comments coping as gamers
sounds like 3 litres of copium ngl
A lot of games also improve other essential skills, like resource management. Take shooter games for example; you have health as a primary resource, and many times you have body armor/shield (another resource) to protect your primary resource. Ammunition/limited use items are another resource that you want to use correctly and not waste.
The list goes on and on and this is primarily what I study in Game Theory. I like that moderation was covered, because like working out your body, you need to give areas of your brain a rest after a “workout”
My mom after wasting 3 to 4 hours on tv shows : Don’t play video games, do some productive stuff.
Me : Ok I’m going to watch Man vs Wild.
Well the fact that the gamer is 20 years younger than the other person is of course a huge factor. Not really a good “study” or comparison between two individuals with such an age gap, and also too small a sample size. This result proves nothing.
How to prove vídeo games are god for brains, compare a non playare to a playare by using test on a screem a make sure dat the test are related to vídeo game skills
Most helpful game genres:
strategy games
(planning/decision making skills)
fighting games (memory),
horror games
(amygdala/emotions)
And RPGs (pre frontal cortex)
