marty once said that deniro told him about leo in 93 after boys life. then marty saw him in gilbert grape and understood the immense talent. but after titanic scorsese lost all hope of working with him “he’s a movie star, he wont wanna work with a serious director like me”. and then leo was like hell yea i wanna work with marty he’s the GOAT. the rest is history
Well the way I connect with certain authors or directors is by really being a concentrated reader or viewer – oh it seems like work you can attack so easily but I try to connect with the work and the movies they watch, as a storyteller myself.
I’m a pretty avid reader and I think that’s important and obvs I watch NBC, Netflix and my Hulu Disney bundle all day.
