How To Convert A Wired Video Mic Into A Wireless Microphone Using A Rode Wireless Go – PRELIMINARY TEST

This is one of my preliminary tests. In this one I’m taking a bunch of videos mics that are usually hard wired into a camcorder or audio recorder and making them wireless by connecting the TX unit of the Rode Wireless GO directly to the mics.
The mics used are the Comica CVM-VM10, Comica CVM-VM10 II, Movo VXR10, Boya BY-MM1 with a Primo EM172 omni capsule in it and my trusty Rode VideoMicro.

The idea is to see what mics reject radio frequency interference RFI and that sound good. I’ll have a good listen and then pick the best one or two and make videos about them. The idea is to show proper real world uses for a wireless video dialogue microphone hand held and on a short boom.

Please let me know in the comments what you think of the test and what you think is the best mic.

  3. Great video. I recently got a Rode Wireless GO and tried using it with Rode Video Mic Pro but it had a lot of noise. Looks like I need to get a Micro.
