Was that shared appetizer the start of something beautiful? Did that absent-minded hair flip actually speak volumes? WIRED challenged three experts: Former FBI Agent and body language expert Joe Navarro, communication expert Anne-Maartje Oud, and behavioral scientist Abbie Marono to observe 5 couples on dates—and guess how long each pair had been together.

The British accent lady looks so much like sara ray vargas
Body language is cultural things. I’m 32 years old I can’t even understand my own emotion and you’re all here to judge by looking someone body language.. I find it generalized. Thumbs up is good sign to others county but thumbs up offensive in Europe.. fingers on ice sign good in Australia but most offensive sign in south Asia.. In other hand eye contact is uncomfortable people with asd, adhd they engaged and listen other by not looking in the eye.
Thid will all be over when the human race is pluggedto the matrix and lose all social skill
Ok they all are terrible experts!
The indian couple omg! If after 14 yrs of being with someone looks like this.. then by all means I would like to be with someone that long when i am older
Couple holding hands
Experts: they are in long term relationship
Well duh
I was thinking all of these videos were staged! I’m pretty sure that knowing they were being recorded affected their body language to sone extent
3 girl is LEANING way back
“OK, we see he lightly brushed his thumb against his wrist and slightly wiggled his third toe on his left foot. That tells me there’s a high probability that the woman will end up in multiple pieces and stored in his basement freezer.”
Bunch of bad actors. Is what they sre watching. Plus whats the deal with Dr abbie’s fake accent? Florida chickie wants to be an english chickie? I call her Daphné.
WTF, the wallet 😏.
I am not gonna lie watching it as a third party is always simple..
Weird to separate dating and married. Married x number of years doesn’t inherently mean anything, nor does it give the whole picture. There’s a whole significant portion of the relationship that occurred before the marriage. Why is that being disregarded?
Anyhow, this was fun to watch. I love observing couples on dates at restaurants or cafes, and guessing what their situation is 😅
That 14 year couple looked a bit too happy and flirty to be together for that long… My guess was dating for 3-4 months. Impressive!
Conclusion: examining body language is a pseudo-science. Random guessing would’ve yielded the same results. This rubbish never stands up to scientific scrutiny.
I know people who are together over 20 years and although they live together the disconection can be felt in the air, longevity could mean silent despair.
My partner and I always sit on the same side of a table very close to one another and we’ve done it since day 1
You going with intention and you being unaware there is a difference it was all a plan
I like how you focused on the psychological side of body language, not just the gestures. That’s what makes it deeper
I nailed every single guess and I thought I didn’t know how to read folks
No.1 I would say they are definitely interested in each other but the guy is too nervous but I feel they must be onto something since I see that guy slowly opening-up.That brown guy on No.5 is a smooth operator.
