Here’s my review of the 2nd Gen Video Doorbell from Arlo. The app gives step-by-step instructions for a super easy setup. I’m adding a little extra security around my home with the 2K video footage that works well even in the evening. Now I’m easily able to monitor who comes and goes to my front door.

I have V1… and by the time I can answer and have a live convo… the person is long gone. To much lag and delay, frustrating. Maybe V2 is better?

Yes, as long as you have an existing doorbell, you should be able to do that. I can’t recall, but I think the box came with the wired accessories so I hope you still have the box.
@handyandymediayes it does come with the wired exccessaries and pinkey.. Thank you for the video easiest I have found yet!!!It’s not hard to set up but I still like to be able to look up installation of things just to be sure it’s done correctly!!! Thanks again for the video ❤easiest

is there a reason for the mounting bracket to have that hole that has the rubber plug on it? you can see it on back of mounting bracket at 1:49.
How do you get the recorded footage without buying any plan ? I mean to say would you able to download/ fetch and store locally, through the base station?

It says wired and wireless, but you don’t show or talk about the wired install. Kind of miss leading. The only reason I clicked on the video.
Its simple, just use the two pre existing wires and unscrew the 2 screws on the plate, then make sure positive goes to positive, and negative goes to negative, screw in the screws and it should be ready to use.
THERE IS NO DEMO OF WIRED INSTALLATION ON THIS VIDEO.
Thanks for that. Am a bit concerned about the ease with which someone could remove the device, just by sticking a pin in. Am I missing something?
Just installed one today. I used the wired option and it does ring my old Mechanical doorbell in the house. But it also calls my mobile every-time and i cannot find the setting to turn off calls. Any suggestions?
that is a dumb design, you have to take the whole thing apart to recharge? , cant have an extra battery and charge it to swap it? now you will be without a doorbell / camera as long as it might take to charge, once the battery is done you have to replace the whole thing instead of just changing a battery … hard pass for me , I loved the first Gen for this reason

BE WARNED… There are subscription’s and added COSTS to get/keep basic features with this unit.
Just mailed my Arlo gen 2 doorbell back to Amazon. The screws they provided have screw heads to small to secure the mounting bracket to the door frame. I even tried using some small washers to fix, but this did not work.
